SUMMER CAMP NIGHTMARE (1987) — DVD | Chuck Connors | Charlie Stratton | Harold Pruett | PG-13
The camp had strict rules. The wrong kid decided to break all of them.
Chuck Connors and Charlie Stratton in this darkly effective and genuinely unsettling thriller about a charismatic and manipulative teenage boy who leads a coup against the strict authoritarian director of a summer camp — a Lord of the Flies-inflected story about youth leadership gone wrong and the terrifying ease with which group dynamics can be turned toward darkness. Harold Pruett in a film of genuine psychological thriller discomfort.
He took over the camp. What he did with it got darker very quickly.
