Tim Madden (Ryan O’Neal) is a struggling writer in Provincetown who wakes one morning with no memory of the night before — only a bloodstain in his car, a marijuana stash that has disappeared, and a severed head he discovers buried in a field. As the mystery deepens in increasingly surreal and violent directions, Madden finds himself ensnared in a conspiracy involving his ex-wife, a corrupt cop, a beautiful stranger and a collection of characters who all seem to know more than him.
