Description
Cattle Annie and Little Britches (1981) — Starring Burt Lancaster, Rod Steiger, Diane Lane | Rated PG
Two teenage girls who worshipped outlaws got to ride with the last of them.
Two teenage girls from Kansas — Annie McDougal and Jenny Stevens — become obsessed with outlaw folk heroes and track down the remnants of the Doolin-Dalton gang, led by a weary Bill Doolin (Burt Lancaster), hoping to experience the Wild West they’ve only read about in dime novels. A charming and surprisingly touching Western about the collision between romanticized legend and gritty reality, with Diane Lane luminous in one of her earliest starring roles.
They ran away to find a legend. They found something real.
