Secret agent James Word (Robin Hawdon) has barely made it home from his latest mission when he finds himself narrating the whole affair over a game of strip poker. His investigation? A race of beautiful alien women from the planet Angvia — led by the mysterious Zeta (Dawn Addams) — who have been abducting Earth women to repopulate their world. Standing in their way is the villainous Major Bourdon (James Robertson Justice), who has other plans entirely.
Shot on a shoestring budget and drenched in late-60s psychedelic style, Zeta One is a gloriously bonkers British cult oddity that blends spy comedy, sci-fi fantasy and pop-art excess into something genuinely unlike anything else. With Carry On legend Charles Hawtrey providing scene-stealing laughs and Valerie Leon adding glamour, this is one of the UK’s most entertainingly eccentric late-60s films.
