Windows (1980) — Starring Talia Shire, Elizabeth Ashley, Joe Cortese | Rated R
She thought she had a new friend. She had an obsession.
Windows is a tense, controversial psychological thriller in which a shy, introverted woman in New York City discovers that her friendly new neighbor harbors a dangerous, all-consuming obsession with her. Director Gordon Willis — best known as cinematographer for The Godfather — brings a striking visual sensibility to this chilling tale of erotic fixation and stalking. Talia Shire and Elizabeth Ashley are both excellent in a film that is far more nuanced than its lurid premise suggests.
The woman next door wasn’t what she seemed.
