Description
Wholly Moses! (1980) — Starring Dudley Moore, Laraine Newman, James Coco | Rated PG
He was right next to Moses the whole time. You just never heard about him.
Dudley Moore plays Herschel, an ordinary man who overhears God delivering instructions to Moses and mistakenly believes the divine mission is meant for him. What follows is a comic epic trek through Biblical history as Herschel attempts to part seas, deliver commandments, and generally fill the sandals of one of history’s greatest figures — with predictably disastrous results. Wholly Moses! is a cheerfully silly parody loaded with familiar faces and genuinely charming comedic energy.
The man God almost chose.
