WHO HAS SEEN THE WIND (1977) — DVD | Brian Painchaud | Douglas Junor | Patricia Hamilton | NR
The prairie shaped him. The wind carried everything he’d ever learn about life.
On the vast Saskatchewan prairie of the 1930s, a young boy (Brian Painchaud) grows up absorbing the hard lessons of life, death, nature, and community. Douglas Junor and Patricia Hamilton co-star in this tender and beautifully crafted 1977 Canadian adaptation of W.O. Mitchell’s beloved novel — a film that captures both the harshness and the wonder of prairie life with extraordinary grace.
The land teaches what school never could.
