Victor/Victoria (1982) — Starring Julie Andrews, James Garner, Robert Preston | Rated PG
A woman pretending to be a man pretending to be a woman — and making Paris fall in love.
In 1930s Paris, a struggling British soprano reinvents herself as a man performing as a female impersonator — until a Chicago nightclub boss falls for her and refuses to believe she’s a man at all. Blake Edwards’s sparkling musical comedy is witty, romantic, and joyfully subversive, with Julie Andrews delivering one of the finest performances of her career.
Julie Andrews at her most dazzling — a witty, romantic musical masterpiece.
