Jim Nashe (Mandy Patinkin) is a former fireman driving aimlessly across America when he picks up Jack Pozzi (James Spader) — a bruised, fast-talking professional gambler who claims he can beat anyone at poker. Nashe backs him with his last $10,000 in a high-stakes game against two jovial millionaires, Flower (Charles Durning) and Stone (Joel Grey), at their remote country estate. When they lose everything, the millionaires make a singular proposal: work off the debt by building a wall of 10,000 ancient stones on the estate grounds. What begins as a straightforward arrangement gradually becomes something far more sinister.
