He wanted the actor. He fell for the wife. The actor noticed.
Faye Dunaway and Dick Van Dyke in this powerfully performed TV adaptation of Clifford Odets’ classic play — a theatre director working to rehabilitate a washed-up alcoholic actor for a comeback production finds himself drawn to the actor’s quietly formidable wife. Ken Howard in a film of exceptional dramatic power and Dick Van Dyke in a rare dramatic role that reveals surprising depth.
