STARFLIGHT: THE PLANE THAT COULDN’T LAND (1983) — DVD | Tess Harper | Lee Majors | Hal Linden | NR
The plane went too fast. Now it was in orbit. The passengers needed it to stop being in orbit.
Tess Harper and Lee Majors in this gripping and expertly made TV disaster thriller about the crew and passengers of a hypersonic aircraft that accidentally enters orbital velocity and cannot return to earth without a solution that doesn’t yet exist — a film of genuine disaster thriller sustained tension and the particular anxiety of a crisis where the problem is not fire or failure but an excess of success. Hal Linden in a production of exceptional TV disaster thriller craft.
The technology worked perfectly. That was the problem.
