Aaron Quicksilver (Christopher Lloyd) is an enigmatic travelling showman who collects oddities and tells stories — two of them, on this particular night. The first, based on Stephen King’s Chattery Teeth, concerns a travelling salesman who buys a novelty wind-up set of chattering teeth that turn out to have very definite ideas about who deserves to survive. The second, based on Clive Barker’s The Body Politic, involves a man whose hands develop their own agenda and political consciousness.
Christopher Lloyd is in magnificent eccentric form as the linking narrator, and the two segments deliver exactly the kind of imaginative horror that Barker and King at their most playful are so good at.
