Johnny Dingle (Andrew Lowery) is your average awkward teenager with one big problem — he’s in love with the popular girl, Missy McCloud (Traci Lind). When a desperate attempt to impress her goes horribly wrong, Johnny ends up dead… but not gone.

Thanks to an inexplicable twist of fate, Johnny returns from the grave with one goal: to finally win Missy’s heart. Unfortunately, being a reanimated corpse doesn’t exactly help his social life, and things spiral into chaos as prom night approaches, bodies pile up, and Johnny’s condition becomes harder (and smellier) to hide.

Bob Balaban adds deadpan comic relief as the increasingly baffled authority figure trying to make sense of the undead situation, while Matthew Fox appears as part of the teen chaos surrounding Johnny’s return.

Directed by Bob Balaban, the film leans into absurdity with a straight face, blending zombie horror, teen romance, and satire of high school cliques into a bizarre but strangely heartfelt experience.
