In 1942 Yonkers, two brothers Jay (Mike Damus) and Arty (Brad Stoll) are deposited with their formidable grandmother (Irene Worth) and their sweet but childlike Aunt Bella (Mercedes Ruehl) by their father Eddie (Richard Dreyfuss) — who must travel for a year to pay off his debts. Their Uncle Louie (also Richard Dreyfuss) is a small-time gangster who periodically appears. Based on Neil Simon’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Lost in Yonkers is a warm, funny and often heartbreaking family drama.
