Houston narcotics detective Jack Caine (Dolph Lundgren) is investigating a series of bizarre drug-related deaths — victims who appear to have died from a substance nothing like anything on Earth. When FBI agent Larry Smith (Brian Benben) arrives and the evidence points unmistakably toward an extraterrestrial origin, the two mismatched partners must deal with a killer whose capabilities are entirely outside anything in the law enforcement manual.
Also released as I Come in Peace, Dark Angel is a hugely enjoyable sci-fi buddy cop action film that delivers Lundgren at his most likeable alongside genuinely inventive alien action sequences. One of the best genre hybrids of its era.
