Five young offenders from different Miami backgrounds are given a stark choice: prison, or a radical rehabilitation programme led by Joe (Stephen Lang), a Vietnam veteran who takes them into the Everglades to learn discipline, survival and teamwork from scratch. When they return to the city, the five decide to take on the drug dealers who destroyed their neighbourhood — turning themselves from targets into a formidable fighting unit.
