He needed to possess her completely. She needed to escape.
An American psychoanalyst (Art Garfunkel) becomes dangerously obsessed with a free-spirited woman (Theresa Russell) in Vienna, their volatile relationship spiraling toward a crisis that unfolds in Nicholas Roeg’s fractured, chronologically scrambled style. Harvey Keitel co-stars as the detective piecing together what happened. Bold, provocative, and unforgettable.
