Also known as Dan Candy’s Law, Alien Thunder is an elegiac and morally complex revisionist Western — based on the last armed confrontation between white authorities and Indigenous people in Canadian history, made with post-Vietnam cynicism and genuine ambiguity about where the moral weight of the story belongs.
